Get off the beaten path and into Alaska’s backcountry on this high-adventure ATV tour across the wild terrain of Chichagof Island.
Your experience begins with a narrated drive through Hoonah—Alaska’s largest Tlingit village—before heading into the forest to gear up and get rolling.
After a brief safety orientation, you’ll hop behind the wheel of a rugged TOMCAR off-road vehicle and follow your guide deep into the island’s remote interior. Traverse old logging roads, climb through mountain valleys, and stop at scenic viewpoints for panoramic photos of towering peaks and ocean vistas. Each vehicle is equipped with a two-way radio so your guide can share stories, history, and local insights along the way.
At the halfway point, licensed drivers will have a chance to switch for a turn at the wheel. This dirt trail experience offers a true taste of Alaska’s untamed landscape, with plenty of bumps and beauty along the way.
